Simply place the slab horizontal on soil and wait for new slabs to emerge. Tested on everything from garden soil to pure sand to a pocket of dry subsoil on ledge during drought with zero water for rooting. The slab may shrivel up a bit, but it will root. The slabs can be prepared for eating and the fruits are also edible. Can tolerate zone 5 winters.
