Quince (Cydonia oblonga) is a unique and potentially challenging tree to grow. Although Angers quince is vigorous (often used as a rootstock for other varieties), it is susceptible to some rusts and other diseases. I started propagating it and was surprised by the vigor, and I think it is better considered as a hedge plant with fruit potential than solely as a fruiting crop.
